Notice Philatron part number ESS-244 in the Philatron shielded cords tab; well under the copper stranding column you will notice it says 19 x 36.
What this means is that there are 19 strands of 36 gauge that are twisted together that brings the overall wire to the new size of 24 gauge.
Also to note the more stranding the cable has the better its flexibility.
For example a 24 gauge 19×36 stranded wire is more flexible than a 24 gauge 7×32 stranded wire.
In addition, 24 gauge 41×40 stranded wire is more flexible than the 19×36 and definitely much more flexible than the 7×32.
So if your wire and cable application is more tailored to be more flexible and you don’t see the stranding your need on our catalog simply fill out your request on our custom cable form.
